Wartook is renound for its plentiful Kangaroos and Wildlife, also has one of the highest Bird counts in Victoria.

Old Dadswell Town - Open to day trippers - a unique old style Australian town with themed accommodation. Mt Arapiles - nature walks and world famous rock climbing mecca - watch the rock climbers. There is a drive part way up the top of Mt Arapiles.

The recent rain events have filled our regions lakes seeing the return of fishing and water recreation activities and with the Grampians National Park providing a spectacular back drop for many of our waterways it is a perfect opportunity to relax and unwind with the family. Natimuk Lake is now full and great for fishing, and water skiing. Green Lake is also very popular for families, just 5 minutes east of Horsham. Reports are coming in that Rocklands Reservoir is producing great fishing – yellow belly/redfin.

Horsham / Dadswells Bridge Taylor’s Lake and the Wimmera River are delighting fisherfolk with the opportunities that have returned so quickly. Reports of catches of red fin and yellowbelly are rewarding.

A monthly Discover Dunkeld collection of galleries, gardens and other attractions provides great reasons to visit and stay. Griffin’s Hill Yoga Retreat, in Dunkeld hosts regular sessions but bookings are essential.

Hamilton Regional Art Gallery has one of the most extensive collections of early colonial and impressionist art in Australia. Specialty shopping – antique jewellery, bookshops offer some great retail therapy opportunities. Ros McAthur Art Studio- Ros is known for her flower paintings and still life, landscape and contemporary art work.
